It was -2 degrees this morning when flying the drone over Adams Cut at Barnbougle Dunes but it was definitely worth getting up early.

Another in the "getting to Know" your district video. Many would have walked over this area on school camps and excursions, but to see it from a quadcopter on a perfect winter day, reveals many more hidden formations. Part of the Mt Cameron Range.

I was asked to take a photo of the Matthew Flinders aground in Trent water. I took this video as well, it shows the problems Bass Strait Freight are having with the estuary and the progress of Richard Sattler's development as part of Banbougle Dunes.

Sideling Upgrade, May 21st, 2024

An update on the Sidling upgrade. I flew the drone up to the lookout and back. Then I drove the car up with dashcam recording. I then showed the trip from the car and drone at the same time. I noted that someone has already dented the new armco barrier. Return journey to come later.

Trent Water, Bridport, May 2024

A quick flight over Trent Water in Bridport on a beautiful Autumn day. A bit of activity in the river with a large fishing boat being towed up the the wharf stirring up quite a lot of mud in the process. Also some activity at Barnbougle with the start of the building of what will eventually be a over twenty accommodation villas for the Barnbougle Dunes Golf Course.

Well, back again at 3am to try a night to day Timelapse. More success this time . Pity the clouds came over and blocked part of the meteor shower but at dawn gave some nice colours. Extra bonus with some bio luminescence early in the night.
The Eta Aquariids Meteor Shower May 2024

Up at 3.00am on Tuesday, 7th May to try to catch the Eta Aqauriids meteor shower. A lot of activity but problems. One camera lens covered with condensation, one no focused properly, one with incorrect iso settings but I did have some success. Try again tonight.
The Start of our Tasmania Trip.

I went to Devonport to meet Rex at the start of our travels around Tasmania. Cradle Mountain, Eddystone Point, Tasman Peninsular and Mount Field.
I loved my 5 days in Bridport.
Hey Jeff we went to remarkable cave this morning at low tide but couldn’t walk through like you could what time of year did you do this? I’d love to come back and be able to walk through like you did it looks spectacular!!
We went in mid February 2017. You need to check the tide tables so you get the lowest tide.

The track was lifted by Australian National Railways Tasmanian Division (ANtasrail), Federal Government owned. Despite a one man media campaign to stop it. It was sold still attached to sleepers (like model train track), stacked in the yard at old Invemay Workshop. Roger Smith (Penny Royal developer), sold back to the Abt Railway Minesterial Corporation and that is now what the West Coast Wilderness train runs on.

One day would you do a documentary on the beautiful coastal heathlands at Eddystone Point and Waterhouse. The various flora, types of hakeas, Xanthorrhoea australis, Acacia, Banksia, Melaleuca, Eucalyptus types, Grevillea? Great locations on the North East coast.
Love your videos Jeff. I climbed Mt Cameron on Wednesday, based on watching your previous videos, great walk.
GREAT WORK AGAIN. Is there a walking trail to the top. Must get back over there again. Looking forward to you surveying via drone Flinders Island and neighboring islands some day. May northern islands like Redondo.

Yes you can drive down before 8am and after 6pm provided there are empty parking spaces at Dove Lake. There are only 9 public spaces there. Or you could park at Ronny Creek.
Which is quicker from Launceston to Scottsdale. Sidling or Golconda Rd?
Depends on where you want to go in Launceston.

We used to go flathead fishing up in there way back in the late 70’s early 80’s. was an epic fishing spot.
Beautiful Bridport. It is such a peaceful place.
No I used the Canon R5 this time. f2.8, auto iso and variable shutter, 6 sec interval.
Was this on the GoPro, what settings was you using, it looks quite spectacular.

Beautiful 😍 I had the privilege of living and working at Cradle Mountain in 2006 to 2008 I would often be found sitting on Marions lookout as the sun came up by guests that would a couple of hours later find me serving breakfast at the lodge. I had the pleasure of being there and enjoying all seasons..a beautiful place indeed. The depth of winter was the highlight of my time there.. frozen, beautiful, and silent. Thanks for sharing 👍 a beautiful time in my life remembered.

Just a GOPro Hero 10 Black. Quite a bit of post processing in Da Vinci Resolve and Edius 11. Probably get better results using my Canon/Sony mirrorless cameras but GOPro makes it easy to do.

No you don’t need a casa licence but you do need to complete a DJI fly authorisation as it is in an aerodrome approach zone. If you fly an acutely drone this doesn’t apply.
